A lot of people tend to buy the web cams for their computers. They do it first of all for interactive chats like those possible in Skype system, where people are able to see each other. Some need webcam for other purposes, still we have to mention no camera will work unless you get the necessary software. Not all people are ready to pay for it, as some of the licensed versions are too expensive for the regular user. Some users on the other hand just prefer to use all the variety of open source webcam software available in the internet. Here are just several examples of the programs you can use to deal with the freshly installed camera.

Fwink is the application suitable for most versions of Windows OS. It enables you to take pictures using the camera and send them as the photo to the site or as avatar to forum. There are also several effects available, you can print a message over the image or make the time stamp. The disadvantage of Fwink is that it will not let you use the camera as actually the video device, as it only works with still images. On the other hand it offers the breathtaking quantity of formats you can export the image in, for example GIF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, WMF etc. If you want to take a picture, still you need to pose for it, feel free to use the ATI Remote Wonder to trigger the webcam.

Another nice example of the open source webcam software is the Dorgem Webcam Capture Software. This program is also completely free and available everywhere in the net. It works on all versions of Windows except for Windows NT. This application can easily work with video stream, so feel free to make a small movies for you and your friends. It has been tested with a lot of cameras and no defects were found, so the program was considered to be quite reliable.

The open source reporting software is rather popular nowadays, so you can find a lot of variations of this software in the Internet.

Consider using the JasperReports as really powerful open source. This program will easily sent the XML, XLS, PDF, CSY. HTML and other files right to your screen.
The other nice option is actually BIRT. It’s also open source and based on Eclipse from the very beginning. You can compile the different reports even if they come fro the different sources.

The latest accessible version is known as BRIT release 1.0, with its help you can perform the report layout as well as an easy access to the data. Scripting is also available here.

The other version of the modern open source reporting software is the popular Pentato. If you’re going to get the best possible solution for your organization, still you don’t feel like paying for it. Use this program ans you will definitely be satisfied. This program offers most of the features the other paid versions obtain, but this one you will be able to use for free.

If all the programs mentioned above appeared to be not exactly what you’re looking for, try JFreeChart. Here you will find all the options for comfortable chart generation. You will be able to work with pie charts, line and area charts, and various bar charts, scatter plots and even bubble charts that are used rather often now. Here are some special features offered here: the source code is included in the complete form, the interface allows the quick access to the database from any source, JPEG and PNG images can be exported instantly.

Time tracking software open source is available in the web in different types and variations. Each type has its own verifications and special features. The well known tags for the software search are basically the time management software, that is how the employees are usually searching for it. You can also look for it by the tag of the web based timesheet solution or even the web timesheet software and sometimes time sheet tracking software as well. There are a lot of different verifications, so feel free to use any of it to look for the software you might need. Why is the time tracking software open source so craved by the users& the first specialty is that it helps greatly to increase the productivity of literally any company. The organizations of all kinds will perform quite the different work on all the stages from top to bottom, the efficiency of any project will grow immediately. Here we offer the most common and recently used features of the Dotproject software that is actually what we all call the time tracking software open source. First of all we configure the features valuable for the employee area. These are the module for every employee enabling him to add or edit the data. They are also able to enter the daily timesheet at any time. If somebody is interested in the past date sheet, they are all available as well. The displayed pictures can be changed or added. Also every user can change his password. The data of the total hours time is available in the format of the week or month. The last nut not the least step is to set the module and project with default settings. The administration area has its own specific features not available for general users.

What is your opinion of open source software in the call center? How can a large call center with multiple locations benefit from this sort of model? We are considering it but have some concerns about data security, and we aren’t too familiar with many of the vendors.

Enterprises of all sizes have been adopting open source software at an ever-increasing rate. So far, however, call centers have not been major adopters of open source software; this is because call centers are often mission-critical functions and require applications that are highly dependable and are backed by strong support organizations. While data security is an important issue for all types of software, open source software does not present greater security risks than most other applications. The real issues surrounding the use of open source software in call centers are system features, stability and availability of support.

It might be the short advertisement or the little family movie – still the basics of the video editing are needful for many users nowadays. The open source video editing software is the special software application that offers the possibility of editing the current video sequences.

It’s also used in the creation of the video clips that go along with the video. And sure thing they offer the basic option of synchronization of audio and video paths. Usually the image editing application of the standard kind offers the options of showing one big image in the considerably large area and the smaller ones in the field of the directory. You can use the directory for holding a lot of different files in there.

There you can use the zoom option to have a close look at the files. The editor is created the way to cover no more then one pixel-line. We issue a new release at least every six months, which is supported for up to 18 months with security patches, fixes for critical bugs, and extra translations. However, because there are various projects it may take longer to than six months for new releases.

Once I install any project, will I be able to upgrade to the next release?

We fully support upgrades from one release to the next. However, upgrades that skip a release may not be supported. For example, we support upgrades from v1.0 to 2.0 not 1.0 to 3.0 unless you first upgrade to 2.0.

Note: that this does not necessarily extend to certain situations involving unsupported software, such as from a third-party source. Therefore if you install such packages please be aware that you have to track the security implications of it as it is outside of OSF project distributions. To do this you sign up to a security announcement list for the software you run that is not from within your distribution.

Is there a specific Enterprise Release?
All OSF projects are built from ground up to be enterprise class and commercial grade solutions. In addition to these regular releases, the OSF team may make even more advanced that has received additional stabilization, polish and translation work. These releases will be supported for a longer period of time than the standard 18+ month support of the time-based releases. Upgrades will be supported from/to releases of same class.
