The Open Software Foundation (OSF) was established as a District of Columbia non-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt corporation focused on information and communications technology projects including technology research and development to essentially derive open source and standards-based technologies to the general public free-of-charge, Computer & Technology Literacy to the under-served, and Green Initiatives for a greener earth. We see these three areas as important to the innovation and crafting of technologies as well as the management of their end of life through various ways of responsible disposal or recycling.

Charitable contributions from organizations and people like you lay the foundation by funding our innovations, incubating and catalyzing growth, and enabling us to attract extraordinary people like yourself and those who work with businesses that implement these technologies for profit and creating jobs while driving the efficient and restorative use of resources. At all three stages, therefore, your support makes our work possible. Because of your generous contributions the Open Software Foundation has embarked on a number of exciting projects starting in 2009. Needless to say, these projects are only possible with community efforts provided in various forms.

Individual and corporate contributions can be in many forms such as but not limited to; financial resources, research and development, code, equipment, gifts of stock, spreading the word, etc.

Volunteers are key to the success of OSF projects. Effective coordination of volunteers is a key role at OSF so that all combined efforts are efficiently utilized. You can contact us with your volunteer inquiries and we will ensure that you are matched with the appropriate task(s), projects, incubation process, etc.

The OSF website also employs the Suggest & Vote (Openideate) area where the community can suggest project ideas for existing or new projects, resources, campaigns, etc. There are many different tasks, ideas, and efforts to achieve our three-pronged movement.

Interns are also welcome all year round to gain work experience as well as enrich their resumes. All contributors are immortalized on the Wall of Fame. See how you can get involved here.
